Knowing the main characters may not be able to escape having contact creates a fun expectation on their interaction. But what if the main characters dislike each other? Well then we can expect friction, sexual tension (because of course!), and 100% bickering banter between the two. 

With best-selling and viral books like The Love Hypothesis and The Spanish Love Deception, you know that the fake dating trope never disappoints. You can also catch it in popular rom-com movies like The Proposal (2009) and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before (2018). So you see, the fake dating trope has always been very well-loved.
