It’s fascinating and entertaining to read a sports romance because you not only get to follow the romance plot, but also the sport itself. Personally, I do love it whenever the characters are playing their sport and as a reader, you get to experience it with them. The highs and lows! Don’t you love when the character who does the sport loses and the other one takes care of them and is there for them in the sad moments in their life? It makes me swoon so much.
Recently I readIcebreaker and let me tell you that it is hands down one of my favorite books ever. Romantic and steamy, this book follows Stassie, a figure skater, and Nathan, an ice hockey player, who have to share their ice rink for a few months.
They don’t start with the right foot, but slowly this pair starts to have a friendship so wholesome and healthy that every time they touch each other you feel like you are dying inside. When Stassie’s skating partner hurts himself, Nathan has to trade his hockey gear for leggings and sequins to help out Stassie and her dream of Olympic gold.
Another recent read,Waking Olivia is an angsty, forbidden romance novel featuring a troubled track star and her new coach. Olivia just transferred to a new college after a catastrophe in her last one. She comes with a lot of baggage and secrets and Will, her coach, is not happy she ended up in his school.
But she’s the best chance for the team to place this season. Even though they hate each other, they can’t seem to deny there is something between them. And when Will starts getting to know her, he is ready to find out everything about her and be there for her when she needs it the most.
If you want to read a book that kinda has a Ted Lasso vibe, with a grumpy/sunshine trope, readEverything For You. Chloe Liese writes amazing feel-good stories and this one is definitely one of them.
This is the story of Oliver and Gavin who happen to be on the same soccer team. They are assigned to be co-captains but Gavin is not too happy about that. Plus they’re also neighbors! Avoiding Oliver is getting harder to do for Gavin. The last thing he expected is to fall for the sunshine guy who makes the walls around his heart drop.
The Central State series is one book series you definitely need to read once in your life. Every single book has hockey as its main sport and most of them (or possibly all of them) take place in college.Take the Lead is the third book in the series, but you can also read each book as a standalone.
This book follows Daniella, captain of the dance team, and Gabe, captain of the hockey team. They have been in each other’s life for so many years because Daniella happens to be Gabe’s sister’s best friend. But the thing that Gabe doesn’t know is that Daniella has been crushing on him for a better part of those years.
Can’t Catch Me introduces Briyana Hayes to you and you’re about to fall in love with her love story with Lance Hawkins. It seems that Briyana can’t seem to catch a break.
The job she was supposed to get… she doesn’t. The place she was going to stay in… she needs to vacate immediately. So now, she’s going back home to live with her father and his mistress-turned-wife. She never thought she was going to reunite with her former best friend.
